People think they know if someone is not telling the truth, but they are not that good at knowing, in reality. We are lied to more than once or twice a day. See if you are familiar with these questions:
- How many times have you told someone you have another commitment when you didn’t, just to avoid seeing them?
- Have you ever praised a meal that you didn’t like just to make the host feel better?
- How many times have you answered that you feel great when you couldn’t feel more exhausted?
Even if you answered positively to just one of these questions it means you also probably lied once today!
We communicate daily in person, over the phone, at home, at work, in interviews, or on dates. People who work online, often don’t have the opportunity to see or hear their clients or customers. We are receiving so many text messages, emails, etc., yet it is difficult to spot deception especially when in written form. We can typically only spot 50% percent of lies.
I want to bury the myths and anecdotes you have heard about deception. My goal is to teach you science-based non-verbal cues, proven by FBI agents and researchers, to demonstrate how you can immediately spot and understand if someone is lying to you.
Get ready, once you learn these secret cues, you will never be deceived again!
